Title: A PAD service led by nurses and podiatrists
Abstract: Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) is a serious condition but has had a low profile. It’s significance has only benn recently reflected in NICE guidelines. This article reports on a Trust which has set up a PAD service lied by nurses and podiatrists. This service is cost-effective and ensures that patients are treated in the community, with referreals made to secondary care when appropriate. A care pathway standardises care.
